Floating Everything Trebuchet (FET)

A Floating Axle Trebuchet with no counterweight guide. The arm, counterweight and axle are free to move forwards and backwards.

Advantages over FAT

  • Shorter (no CW guide)
  • Track gap is easily avoided
  • Possibly more efficient in some cases

Disadvantages over FAT

  • More vulnerable to derailments
  • Wheels and track need to keep arm assembly aligned
  • Arm assembly may strike ends of track
